Hearing Voices Phenomenon Workshop
On April 29, 2015 FASS Psychology Program and IUS Lifelong Learning Center organized interactive educational workshop on Hearing Voices Phenomenon. Lecturer was Adi Hasanbašić, psychologists and Director of Metanoia, Association for Destigmatization and Affirmation of Persons with Psychosocial Difficulties. Hasanbašić has a lot of experience in clinical psychology and practice, as well as counseling and psychotherapy. He received “Farah Tahirbegović” award for the extraordinary contribution to psychological science.
The workshop was intended for psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists and students of psychology. The main objectives of the workshop included historical perspectives of hearing voices approach, differences between hearing voices and biomedical approach, hearing voices groups and recovery. Besides IUS students of psychology, among participants were professors of Psychology from Department of Psychology, University of Sarajevo, psychotherapists from Sarajevo and from Mostar (Psychiatric Hospital), and psychology students from Department of Psychology, University of Sarajevo. Upon successful completion of the workshop, all participants received certificates.
