Dear students,

Psychology is a wonderful major that will assist you in understanding the behavior and mental processes of yourself and others.

The Psychology (PSY) program at IUS provides students with theoretical and practical foundations to develop as psychological scientists and as professional practitioners of psychology.

Our psychology courses cover a wide variety of topics and are taught in small classroom settings by enthusiastic and devoted faculty.

Students acquire scientific habits through courses in statistics, research methods and experimental psychology and practitioner skills through applied courses and service experiences. These applied experiences offer students ground skills in psychological assessment, treatment, and intervention within an international and multicultural context.

Students in this psychology program have a unique opportunity to participate in and conduct research using state-of-the-art technology, such as VR laboratory and mirrored counseling rooms. Many students work personally with faculty on research topics. Many of our students present their research at major research meetings. Additionally, many students have co-authored papers that have appeared in leading academic journals.

Successful completion of the program allows students either to pursue postgraduate studies in the psychological sciences or assume employment in professional settings, such as marketing, human resources, social work, and mental health.

If you have any questions about our program, please feel free to contact me. We look forward to welcoming you. Join us in “dreaming no small dreams.”
