1st IUS Spelling Bee competition
The 1st IUS Spelling Bee competition was held on 24 December 2014. The competition was organized by English Language and Literature study program. All students of Freshman English course were eligible to participate and earn extra credit for the course. Out of 26 students who registered, 19 students took part in the competition demonstrating a high level of English proficiency and rich vocabulary. Contestants were enthusiastic in spelling a variety of different words, including: avalanche, tenacity, futile, bedlam, engender, mire, buoy, viscous, rapport, etc.
The top three contestants were Emina Rastoder, Amina Adilović and Amar Tirić. The winner of the 1st IUS Spelling Bee competition was Emina Rastoder, a student of English Language and Literature program. Amina Adilović, also a student of English Language and Literature program, won the second place, while Amar Tirić won the third place. The three finalists received additional prizes. Congratulations to the winner and the other two finalists, but also to all the participants who have contributed to promoting English language learning and competitive spirit among IUS students.
