PSY Program’s Asst. Prof. Dr. Christian Valt Participates in the 11th Mismatch Negativity Conference

Asst. Prof. Dr. Christian Valt, from the IUS Psychology (PSY) study program, participated in the 11th Mismatch Negativity Conference (MMN 2026), held in Bari, Italy. The international conference was dedicated to research on mismatch negativity and its applications in neurophysiology.

The conference explored the neural mechanisms underlying prediction, prediction error, change detection, and memory, highlighting their relevance to understanding brain function in both health and disease. It provided a platform for researchers to discuss emerging findings, methodological developments, and future directions in neurophysiological research.

As part of the conference, Asst. Prof. Dr. Christian Valt co-organized a symposium entitled “MMN as a Biomarker for Psychosis: New Approaches and Future Directions” with the conference organizer. The symposium brought together international researchers to discuss recent advances and future perspectives on the potential of mismatch negativity (MMN) as a biomarker for psychosis.

His participation contributed to international scientific exchange and discussions on innovative approaches to neurophysiological research, supporting collaboration and efforts to advance the understanding of psychosis and its potential biomarkers
